The Latest Info On world of warcraft video games

I left this game back in 2004 to pursue other MMOs. Well I’m back after 5 years off and am I glad I returned. Not much for me to say that already hasn’t been said.

Deep stories and engaging quests.
Fantastic character development.
I find the graphics to be very appealing.
An old system can run this just fine..My rig can run this at nearly 500 frames-per-second. So old or new, doesn’t matter. It just looks good with major attention to detail.

I’ve been wanting to come back to this game for a long time, and as with you read up on reviews and in forums as to whats going on. And as with you have read over and over about all the childish nonsense that goes on and how the culture just makes for a miserable experience. Allow me to dispell some of that.

I rejoined expecting just a ton of BS and to not play for more than a few days. I also expected it to be dead dead dead. Any one who has played an MMO then quit, then comes back years later knows that lower level zones are barren for the most part which really sugz.

Well, this game is very active. Low level zones have a descent amount of people in them that are level appropriate, and usually a few high level players around to lend a hand.

Now as far as the brain-damaged teenie bopper crowed. Yes they are there BUT!!!! But…it’s easy to squelch their idiotic babble. All you do is right click their name then chose ignore. BAM! You just muted an idiot! I’ve done this for the past couple of weeks and I must say that the bulk of the chatting I read is on subject and appropriate. My ignore list is HUGE. When in a mjor city just watch the chat, you can spot the ‘tards from a mile away. Right click their name/ignore. Those that respond to the nonsense? Right click name/ignore. Works like magic! Even in doing so, I still manage to find plenty of good people to group with and have fun with. There is the occasional a-hole but that is by far not the norm.

Seems it’s never a problem finding a high level to help out on something you have no business doing on your own. Or like a said, groups are fairly easy to come by.

Hats off to Blizzard for keeping this game alive. To me it’s all new again and fun. Also kudos for having regular events and polishing this game every chance they get.

Now is the perfect time to rejoin or sign up for the first time. You’ll have plenty of time to move through the current content and come next November, the entire world is going to be redone. So you’ll see it pre and post “cataclysm”.

One more thing, choose your sever wisely. They have data centers all over the country, choosing one near you might be a good idea. Also choosing one in your time zone is a good idea as a lot of things are planned on server time. Go online and look up where the data centers are and go from there. Blizzard does not share that information and you wont find it in game.

What can I say? This game is perfect if you have no girlfriend/boyfriend, job, social life, or basically any form of physical or social activity that differs you from that of a rusted lawn chair. This game does nothing but steal time away from you. If you have time to waste good, you’ll be spending hours here. If you don’t leave the World of Warcraft and never come back you obviously don’t belong there. This game does nothing but replace real life goals and accomplishments met through realife hardwork with digital goals that are met with the same amount of time applied. The difference being the accomplishments you wasted your time on in the game mean absolutely and I mean absolutely nothing! They have no value whatsover accept to other people like yourself trapped in the game.

I got so tired of people talking about what they do in this game like it’s an actual accomplishment. You played since it’s release? who cares? You have Tier whatever gear who cares? You have some magic mount no one else in the game has who cares? You have tons of fake game gold who cares? None of this stuff matters to people that live in the real world. Do you think anyone cares that I killed King Bowser back in 1989? Or that I upgraded my standard blaster to a missle blaster in Metroid in 1988? Or how about the time I found the secret ring in Sonic the Hedge Hog when I got my first Sega? NO ONE CARES A BOUT WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED IN A GAME! IT’S MEANINGLESS! IT HAS NO REAL WORLD VALUE!

Every inch of this game is festered with morons that simply can’t understand that. At first I thought it was mostly just ignorant kids…but these are adults! Yes, grown adults! Acting like they are children. Some I even know of to have neglected their own children just to play the game. I brought The WoW the first game because it was new and I enjoyed it…but it was short lived with all the drama. I brought the Burning Crusade because my guild annoyed me until I did (I was the guild master). I had to always have the best armor and weapons to keep up with and lead these morons. It was a real pain in the behind. The game felt so much like a job.

All the expansion does is add more hours for you to waste getting better armor and more dungeons to drag yourself through for 10 exciting levels of doing the same quest over and over again. If you like living your life on par with that of a coat hanger… or maybe a lawnmower in the dead of winter. Than this game is perfect for you. However if you enjoy games that are fun and challenging and really exciting look away from this and never come back.

The graphics are well-done and the quests are fun. Blizzard did a good job on this game.
In spite of this I must give it a low rating.
If you are a person who loves to complete things, please do not begin playing this game. Thre is literally no end. The only people who can accomplish a lot and get the best stuff are those who play 12+ hours a day. I am not exaggerating here. I am a recovering addict of World of Warcraft. I got to a place where I was bored but compelled to play, neglecting everything that was important in life.
    [...] It’s a great community of people.

Ever since I got my new laptop, I’ve now surrounded myself with PC games and their expansions and whether or not something’s worth the purchase since I’ve gone years dealing entirely with the console market. Naturally one of the first I got was World of Warcraft, one of the world’s top MMO’s available and seeing as how level caps and new races get added for the expansions, getting Burning Crusade offers some content to warrant a purchase for those looking to get the most of the game. And unlike Wrath of the Lich King’s, the content here can be accessed right from the get-go and seeing as how there’s been a couple of improvements, Burning Crusade is worth a purchase for these reasons though the main game by itself has enough content for everyone too.

Added to the World of Warcraft character choices are 2 new races: the draenei, who start off on Azuremyst Isle with the previously inaccessible ability to be a shaman while the other race, the blood elves, start on Sunstrider Isle near Silvermoon City with the ability to become a paladin. Both starting areas are quite beautiful in their art direction as the blood elves area can best be described as “autumnal” with lots of orange and forest areas giving a great Fall season feel whereas the draenei as a more sci-fi element with glowing crystals and bizarre places such as rivers that are entirely in red. Thanks to a higher polygon count, the characters models as well look a bit more attractive (especially the ladies) and some trade cities such as the Exodar are quite stunning visually.

The other addition is adding jewelcrafting as a profession which allows you craft trinkets such as rings and jewellery that can be added to weaponry for bonuses. It’s a cool addition though with many other professions it’s really up to you which one you want to put your time on. Skinning has become a huge moneymaker for my travels while my Mage has been benefitting from Tailoring so even though there’s jewelcrafting, it’s another choice for your character though with enough time and cash into levelling up jewelcrafting, you can create some pretty nifty stuff. The level bump for the professions as well as been bumped up so let’s you become way more proficient than was previously allowed.

But arguably the biggest addition to the land itself outside of the 2 races starting areas is the continent of Outland with new zones for you to explore and level up in which is helpful considering the level cap has been moved to 70 instead of just the 60 level cap the original cap had. With some new PvP additions, it would seem that the Burning Crusade would be truly exceptional however a couple of minor things drag it down. Having played through both quest zones for draenei and blood elves, it’s kind of hard not to see some parallels from a mission where you fly back and forth from a hippogryph but that’s kind of the nature of the races anyway and you can’t do anything from either the “kill 10 of these/collect 8 of these/talk to him or her” quests but I quite liked the storylines for both though.

Strange thing actually is thanks to the massive patch download I had to do to play the original game, I guess Burning Crusade went with it since mine came on a DVD-ROM and it barely installed anything, I just upgraded my account to Burning Crusade on the launcher, inputted the product key and kaboom, I’m ready to play which was quite cool though it partially made me feel like I spent 40$ for the product key rather than the game content on the disc but oh well.

While one can say Burning Crusade is more for the hardcore since you don’t necessarily need this game unless you want the new races and level cap but for those wanting to invest more time in World of Warcraft, Burning Crusade makes an excellent addition…and considering how great the main game is anyway, you’ll probably feel like buying it on principle.

i checked every MMO in the industry and none has been as good to me as World of Warcraft has been. Cant find a game with a more solid story line, the new stuff we see every few months and the way blizzard interacts with us, the players, on how to better up the overall expirience of the game.

  5. Quian says

So i bought this game about 2 weeks after I bought the original. I have to say that I really don’t care for this expansion. Just like many others have said you spend most of your time going from A to B and it takes you hours to finish quests unless you have someone helping you. I really don’t have the time to devote 2 hours let alone the 6-8 or even more some people spend playing this game. If you want a game thats pretty much a big time waster than this is the one for you. I wish I could take the game back and get the $60 I spent on it and the original. Although blizzard seems to have a decent concept I still think that it lacks in allot of places.

Video game technology may have progressed in the last 6 years, but fun is still fun. This game set the bar back then and continues to entertain today. Plus, you don’t have to worry about whether or not your computer can handle it! Just set all the graphics settings to “11″ and off you go. The strategy guides are useful and compact, easy to have at hand while playing. Still a great game.

  7. DeHart says

This is a core game for most people. If you don’t have it you are missing an awesome game.

  8. Johann says

Ok, well I bought this warcraft war chest because 24-7 World of Warcraft (minus the 8 painful hours of maintenance on Tuesdays) just isnt enough. I actually played this game years ago, before WOW came onto the scene (and from what I can tell pretty much killed the PC gaming market). It is still great fun, very smart, and if you are a WOW addict gives you some nice back story and a way to get up close and personal with the various WOW bosses. If not, it is a great blizzard RTS (real time strategy — I think this is the category this game falls into anyway). And if you are waiting for Starcraft 2, this will entertain you during your wait (or during the 8 hours of WOW maintenance on Tuesdays!)

I’ve been playing this game with my friends online for free for years and we’re still playing it. I recommend this game to everyone

  10. Valderrama says

I have an intel imac and this game works great on my imac. I am playing humans and already reached many levels. This game is much better to me since I couldn’t play Starcraft on my imac and had to return the product through Amazon. When I have mac os x and Starcraft didn’t work, just didn’t make sense. Anyhow, this game is great and I am actually following the storylines.

I wasn’t really into computer games but my husband got me playing this game and now I’m addicted. XD
