How To Repair The PS3 Yellow Light Of Death
Hundreds of interesting and varied quests. Death knight class is a lot of fun to play
Great-looking environments. Dungeons are now accessible to all players. Your actions have an impact on the world around you.
This version is pretty good, it comes with a baseball hat (WOW engraved) and 2 strategy guides.
This was for sure more BANG!!! For the buck and I am happy that I have found it!
WoW is simply wonderful… and the product was sent with an official hat and two guides… all of them new =D
I had chance to complete missing guides and get an official WOW hat. No need to say that Lich King is a fabulous game, with all these goodies, it is even better!
WoW players – this is not a purple item. Maybe a blue, but more likely a useful green. Non-Warcraft players, sorry for the geek-out, the rest of this review will be in English.
I am a big fan of the super-detailed figurines. I loved it when MacFarlane Toys started making the Spawn figures and then all the other toy companies that followed suit. The initial Warcraft figures were a bit… iffy – lots of flash left on the bits of the mold details, sloppy paint, mangled looking faces… but they got better. Unfortunately Lady Vashj is a bit of a step backward – at least in my opinion.
What’s Good:
————————–
The model itself isn’t too bad – if this was an unpainted model, I would probably score it higher. The details are crisp with very little excess plastic left around the edges, and the weapons have nice accents – even the arrow.
She’s sturdy – Lady Vashj comes with a base with two stubs that you mount her serpentine body to (think old fashion GI Joe figurines). Once you put her on the base, she’s not going to wobble and fall over like many of the other Warcraft figures.
She’s very accurate – makes you want to put together a group to go raiding again.
What’s Bad:
————————–
The paint is pretty bad – especially for a figure you’re paying $40+ on. Vashj is scaled – and those scales are 3D, not just imprints – which I’m sure adds to the difficulty of painting, but there’s a lot of overlap and messy lines. There’s no real effort taken to detailing the paint on the weapon – most of the highlight lines on my bow were in the correct general area, but that’s about it. Her claws were sort of black, sort of… well sort of not colored in several areas.
The extras (bow, arrow, cape thing) are all loose, which has always irked the heck out of me and is a pet peeve of mine. The manufacturers did make a leap forward by allowing the bow and sword to come in two pieces so that the sword and bow can slide into the hand and then be snapped back together. Unfortunately the sword hand is the only one with a square hilt and a tight grip; once you put the sword in, it’s not moving. The bow hand, however, is a open “O” and therefore the bow just rocks around in the grip. Same for the arrow – the arrow has an extended piece behind the feather which slips into a hole on the draw hand, however the fingers are open so the piece rocks around in the little hole – so both the arrow and bow are pretty freestanding.
The tail joint is very obvious. In the picture on Amazon’s site, the tail joint is very carefully hidden from view. Lady Vashj’s tail comes in two pieces – the main body, then a secondary part which curls up behind her. Unfortunately the segment at which both parts join, while sturdy, is very, very obvious. There’s no extra bit of armor to hide the joint or anything along those lines.
Conclusion
————————–
All in all, Lady Vashj isn’t a great figurine. I think the “Deluxe” in the product name is simply for the sheer size of the figure rather than the detailing. The cost of the figure really calls for a little bit more love to go into the small details – and that really wasn’t done. If you happen to find this figure for $30 or so, it’s worth it – however for the MSRP, it’s not a very good deal.
For parents looking for a toy for their kids – like all of the Warcraft figure series, these aren’t really “interactive” figures. They’re made to sit on a shelf and look neat – so probably not the best choice for a ten year old.
Bought this for my nephew, he loves WoW and this is the latest in a series of toys he collects. Excellent quality and fast delivery.
This music has qualities far above its role as ambience for a mere game.
Among the highlights: the main title is similar to the “Lord of the Rings” theme. The Stormwind theme has the proper regally religious militarism of a city run by a warrior king. Dun Morogh has a heart-rending orchestral yearning, almost like Adiago for Strings or even Nimrod in places. Elwynn Forest has a lazy summertime country tranquility pierced by troubling uncertainties. Shimmering Flats is a more oppressive heat, and uses all the usual audio cues for vast open spaces, heat and loneliness, such as vibraslap. Teldrassil is the ambient music that hooked me into the game, an absolutely ethereal, dark fairy-tale with muted trumpets, harp, ooh-aah voice, magic piano.
If you have the game already, you may not know that you can easily turn the music on or off (from in the game) with. It is also possible to “rip” the music out of the game – and there is a lot more music in the game than on this CD. I bought this CD because the music is soooo good, I wanted the best available quality (the in-game music is mp3).
Talking of sound quality, most of the music is voiced with electronic instruments. This is mostly very good – synths have had decent string, piano, etc since the Korg M1 – but the music really deserves the real thing. Perhaps they will record a “Warcraft by the London Symphony” one day.
Has all the vanilla WoW music including all the major cities themes and most of the familiar lvl 1 thru 60 lvling areas, a must buy for Horde and Alliance both!
I just wanna say this is an amazing sound track, i’ve listened to it many times. Blizzard has hired very talented music composers, as they’ve done with their previous games as well. The music tracks fit the zones they are trying to portray perfectly, from the foreboding gloomy music of the undead zones, to the mystical grand music of the might elves. As a long time game music aficionado I am impressed at how classical music is still being evolved.
This is a wonderful soundtrack with a wide variety of sound. There are even some tracks that I had not heard in the game before.
I like this song collection enough that I am going to buy the second CD with sounds from WofLK.
These are deep and rich original classical compositions made for World Of Warcraft. The writing and performances are excellent. This stands alone as a dark and haunting collection of music. Anyone who likes complex and textured classical music, even a non-warcraft player, should enjoy this great work. I was initially tipped into finding this when I heard the opening music from Wrath of the Lich King’s opening screen. Listening to the rest proved my suspicion that this album is an absolutely viable stand-alone piece of classical music.
Well I don’t play this anymore but I played for 1 year and I played it so much I couldnt go anyhigher on the levels. This game is great but it took too much of my time which is a reason I don’t play anymore.
This game is fun for the first three or four characters you make, but the quests tend to get quite repetitive, and some are obscenely annoying… You may have a quest in a new zone, you head there to finish it only to run into mobs 2-3 levels higher that you that like to gang on you and kill you near-instantly. It’s a good game but… Some things can be improved. Won’t stop me from playing though. ;D
Bottom line this is a great game. for those other posts that say it is broken with no end in sight….yes there are other people out there that agree with you, but they are haters as well…they are the normal mmo surfers. they will play lord of the rings online, everquest, tabularasa, age of conan and warhammer online and never truly be anygood at there charecter…now the common argument is “well i have # of 70’s” well the reason for that is they got into a good guild that took them under there wing thinking they where gonna be a legitament addition then they just up and quit after they leeched other peoples help. they complain that there is no customer service because they dont respond to messages and the game is getting to easy…for one every post i have put in has been responded to within the hour and the game is getting “easy” because they are listening to people. the majority of people like to actually quest not run around in circles for 3 hours trying to find the guy they got the quest from thats why they light up, its not making the game easier…its making it more user freindly thats all, bottom line people dont listen to the haters out there…judge for yourself get the plain jane origanal and buy a prepaid card and see…
I used to play almost exclusively on Xbox 360 only using my cpu for surfing, documents, and the occasional trist in the world of Sid Meier’s Civilizations. Over my Christams-New Years break I was introduced to this game by some friends I was visiting. The Xbox is now in a closet, the PC hooked up to the LCD TV, and I am hooked.
Since I started playing I have noticed a few things that people may want to consider before buying the product.
1) It is extremely beneficial to buy guides of some sort, so once you decide that you’re going to play this game prepare for another layout of some bucks and also I recommend having a computer that can flip between windows as you may want to consult a website to help you get through some of the tougher quests.
2) If you like the game and can see yourself playing it for at least 6 months at a time go for the longer time option. 6 months at (I believe) $77 or so.
3) Most of the people on here seem to talk about PVP only servers where you are always flagged for PVP. There are also PVE servers where you can enable and disable PVP meaning you can quest without higher level players jumping you and basically play against the environment (although much of the really good equipment is only available through earning it in pvp arenas or battlegrounds).
4) The game is very addicting and time consuming. My highest charachter is at level 65 and I have already invested 12 days (288 hours) of time into building him (there are guides available that show you how to level faster, power level, but I really enjoy taking the game at my own pace.
5) The game can be soloed completely, and can also be run entirely with groups, although I’ve found that its best to have a mix of both.
6) Create more than 1 toon (charachter) at a time. If you dont touch use a charachter for some time they become rested and gain double exp for kills. This is an easy way to gain levels fast.
7) The game can be played out of the box with content dl only from Blizzard, but it is very beneficial to dl some third party addons. Many of these are easy to install, and have been used by millions with no problems, just check around before you dl something.
All in all WOW may be the most addicting game I have ever played. I have been mostly a PVP FPS player on consoles, but the depth of the game, the differing environments, the storyline, the RPG experience, and diversity of each charachter, along with all the added capabilities that the world of warcraft site and third party sites offer is incredible. For any gamer who likes RPG’s that are realxing for the most part, but can be insanely intense during boss battles and PVP fighting. This game is definitely one of the best you’ll buy. For those who consider money an issue…. if you buy one game a month that is more than the monthly fee for this game, and you probably won’t want to buy many if any games (money saved). For those who don’t consider money and issue, there are many other things you can purchase to enhace the experience and help you to level more efficiently. This game truly has something for everyone and is worth every dollar spent.
PS you can get a free trial and if you know someone who already has the game you can save them some money (get them to send you an email and they get a month for free if you pay for three months).
